What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is the process of promoting products and services for other companies and getting paid a commission each time someone buys something you’ve promoted.

A simple analogy would be a door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesperson who doesn’t have to build the vacuum cleaners but gets paid a commission for each successful sale he makes.

Beneifts of Affiliate Marketting.

  1. You’re your boss. As an independent ‘contractor,’ you don’t work for the companies you promote. You sell their stuff.
  2. Flexibility! You set your hours and work on your schedule.
  3. You don’t have to carry the products. You promote them online, and the company provides the product and service.
  4. You don’t have to develop a product.
  5. You don’t have to hire employees. You do this on your own.
  6. Affiliate marketing allows you to make income by leveraging your blogs posts and social media.
  7. You don’t need a large amount of money to start affiliate marketing, and there are no overhead costs.
  8. There are no limits to how much you can earn.
  9. It’s a win-win situation for both you and the companies you decide to promote. They get to expand their markets and customer base through you. As the middleman, you’re the person connecting the customer to the product or service.
  10. You focus on marketing & selling. This singular focus increases your chances of success.
  11. You are not committed to any contracts.
  12. You have direct control over your outcomes

1 . You!

You are the affiliate, also known as the publisher. You’re the middleman. You’re the person connecting the customer to the product or service.

Your job is to:

  1. Find products to promote (Offers)
  2. Find potential customers (Traffic Sources)
  3. Create marketing material (Ads, Landing Pages, etc.)
